Personal Profile in
Assoc. prof. PhD Mariana Durcheva is a Vice Dean of the FAMI. She is an Associate professor of Algebra from 2015. Her PhD (2013) is in “Mathematical modeling and application of mathematics”. Her research interests are in the fields of Applied Algebra, Public Key Cryptography, Discrete mathematics, Graph Theory, Educational Technologies, Online Education, Online eAssessment. She is an author of 2 textbooks and 2 teaching materials, as well as a monograph entitled “Applications of Some Algebraic Structures in Cryptography”. She has published over 36 articles in Bulgarian and international journals, as well as participation in a number of conferences and summer schools in Bulgaria and abroad. She is a member of the Organizing Committee of the Conference “Application of Mathematics in Engineering and Economics”(http://oldweb.tu-sofia.bg). She has participated in different projects, the most important of which is the Tesla project (http://tesla-project.eu) under Horizon 2020. Besides the disciplines Mathematics 1, 2, 3, she also teaches courses in Linear Algebra and Discrete Mathematics. M. Durcheva is a member of the Union of Mathematicians in Bulgaria.
